News from KNOWhere - 1-12-09

Come stock up on your books and DVDs, because it's going to be a long weekend! The library will be closed Monday, January 19 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We will reopen at our regular time Tuesday, January 20.

The Screven County Library Board will be meeting at 4 pm on Thursday, January 8 at the Screven County Library. The Jenkins County Memorial Library Board will be meeting at 10:30 am on January 14 at the Jenkins County Memorial Library.

Federal and State Income Tax forms will be available at the library soon. As soon as they come in, we'll let you know! If you just can't wait to get that refund, though, go to www.irs.gov for your Federal income tax needs or http://www.etax.dor.ga.gov/IndTax_TSD.aspx for the Georgia ones.

Do-It-Yourselfers, check your shelves! If you have purchased WIRING A HOUSE, 3RD EDITION or WIRING COMPLETE: EXPERT ADVICE FROM START TO FINISH, both published by Taunton Press and sold at hardware stores, please return them to the store you bought them from! it appears that the publishers were not careful enough about checking the instructions, and you could get a nasty shock if you followed their directions. Want to know more? Check out the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's release or the company's website at www.taunton.com . (And no - we don't have either of these books at the library!)
